Chinese and computer classes at Notre Dame Elementary School collaborated to create Chinese New Year’s cards. They learned about Chinese culture, how to type a Chinese phrase, its pronunciation using the Chinese language and its meaning in English. Next, they painted an original art piece using Photoshop 6.0 and added their picture and a special message to the greeting card for their parents for Easter.
Bread Day, Easter Preparations
Second-graders at Notre Dame Elementary School celebrated Bread Day on March 20 as part of their preparation for receiving their First Communion. With the help of parent volunteers, students made bread, participated in a number of activities to help them reflect on the gift of the Eucharist and ended the day with a beautiful prayer service.
In preparation for Easter, students dyed eggs as a reminder of the new life that comes to us through the great feast of Easter.
