KMS Students of the Month
Kenston Middle School is pleased to announce their Students of the Month.
Students selected for Student of the Month honors are sixth-graders Billy Glime, Brandon Schroeder, Anna Snyder and Kathryn Taylor; seventh-graders Savannah Georgian, Owen Gretkierewicz, Cara Joyce and Chris Lenart; and eighth-graders Matthew Atol, Julianna DeMarco, Bryan Rees and Zoe Rice.
Top 15 Honored
Kenston Academic Boosters honored the Top 15 senior scholars and the educator who had a special impact on their Kenston career.
Students being honored were Maria Agostino, Drew Bailey, Jennifer Baumgartner, Lindsay Cook, Cara Fagerholm, Leah Fuller, Allison Kumnick, Melissa Landsman, Owen Norley, Jay Obman, Allison Porter, Molly Reeb, Alan Tatro, Divya Thomas and Kelsey Trimm.

Junior Invited To Naval Program
Kenston High School junior Drew Weninger will participate in the 2013 U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar program. He is one of a select group of students invited to attend the summer seminar.
The program helps educate, motivate and prepare selected students who are considering applying for admission to the United States Naval Academy. Summer seminar students will experience first-hand what the Naval Academy has to offer through its academic, athletic, extracurricular activities and leadership training programs including daily physical training involving group runs and conditioning exercises. Students will also participate in seamanship and navigation classes and will take a cruise aboard a Navy Yard Patrol Craft to apply what they will learn in the classroom.
Earth Day 5K
Kenston High School Envirothon is hosting a community race to recognize Earth Day on April 28 at 9 a.m., with registration beginning at 8:15 a.m. The race will begin at Kenston Community Stadium.
Cost covering entry and a T-shirt is $15.
Proceeds from the race will be used to support Kenston Trails and scholarships for environmental learning. Registration forms are available on the high school website.
District Art Show
The community is invited to celebrate Connections Kenston Schools 42nd annual District Student Art Show on April 30 from 6-8 p.m., with a community artist showcase May 1 and 2 from 6-9 p.m. at Kenston High School, 9500 Bainbridge Road.
The art show will feature a variety of student artwork from all grade levels, including work inspired by famous artists and other cultures, wood and scrap sculptures, graphic design, mixed media illustrations, portraits and landscapes, ceramics and sculptures in a variety of medium such as clay, plaster, foam and soapstone.
Kindergarten Reminder
