Get Sharp, Stay Sharp: April 22, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kevin Noon, a professional tool sharpener, will sharpen kitchen, sewing and gardening tools. Kevin will discount his service for Geauga County seniors. Call to sign up. Based on the responses received, there may be a limit to the number of items Kevin can sharpen.

Dare to be 100 Senior Fair
Sponsored by the West Geauga Senior Center & Geauga West Friends of the Library, the Dare to be 100 Senior Fair will be held April 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Geauga West Library, 13455 Chillicothe Road in Chesterland. Seniors and their families are invited to see and hear about the programs and services available in Geauga County.
There will be many interactive experiences. Seniors can sign up for programs and services at the event. There will be refreshments, give-aways and door prizes.
Guest speakers Steve Jones, president UH Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, and Joey Tomsick, CEO of Lake County Council on Aging, will speak from 12:15-12:45 p.m.
The fair features: Alzheimers Association, Arthritis foundation, Assisted Livings, Chester Police, Counseling Services, Food Pantries, Geauga Libraries, Geauga Parks, Geauga Transit, Geauga Veterans, Jobs and Family Services, Kent State, Long Term Care, UH Geauga Medical Campus, Senior Assessment, Sheriffs Office, Russell FD, United Way, YMCA Young of Heart and Department on Aging services, including attorney, adult day care, chore and home maintenance, congregate meals, home delivered meals, home health, respite, senior centers, support groups, out of county medical rides and volunteerism.

Register For Munson Twp. Senior Trash Pickup
Munson Township Trustees and Munson Road Department are joining forces with the Geauga County Department on Aging for the 2013 Munson Township Senior Trash Pick-Up Days April 22-24.
To register for trash pickup, one must be 60 years of age or older, live in Munson Township and be registered with Geauga County Department of Aging. The Munson Township Road Crew and the Department on Aging will pick up refuse from the seniors driveway and take it to the township dumpsters.
No liquids, paint, or other hazardous materials, construction or remodeling debris, rocks, yard waste, household garbage, televisions, computer monitors or small appliances with electrical components will be accepted.
Reduce wood or pipe to six-foot lengths. Mattresses must be wrapped securely in plastic.
Unbroken car batteries, lawn mowers, and a maximum of four tires off the rim will be accepted. To dispose of an auto or truck, call the township at 440-286-9255
Only 10 household items per home and the trash should be from the registered senior’s household only. Items must be left by garage or driveway near residence. Consolidate all small materials in strong boxes or containers. Do not leave items by the curbside. Items should be outside by the evening of April 21.

The cleanup is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The number of senior residents that can be served is limited.
