The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriffs Office May 31 to June 6. In total, the sheriffs office handled 365 calls during this seven-day period.

Animal Problem

June 1

3:59 p.m., Farmington Road, Parkman. Female requesting to speak with a deputy. Unknown male ran over a duck that was crossing the roadway. The caller is upset because her children believe the duck is their pet and it was obvious the motorist ran over the duck intentionally. She has the license plate off the truck. IR only.

June 6

6:37 p.m., Auburn Road, Chardon. Caller advised she just returned home, four pigs in her yard, do not belong to her. Four pigs reported missing last night approximately 7:30 p.m. Pigs owner contacted; advised they would be en route to retrieve the swine.

Citizen Assist

June 3

3:22 p.m., Goredon Drive, Aquilla. Complainant was upset over the odor of her neighbors dog feces in the yard. She stated the dog owner never cleans it up and with the warm temperatures, it smells bad. The neighbor said she would keep up in the dog waste. Advice given.

Domestic Dispute

June 3

9:36 p.m., Cambridge Road, Chardon. Caller advised her two brothers and parents are physically fighting. Mother is screaming in the background. This is over Call of Duty. Father got on the line and advised everything was good. Did not need anything. Argument between 20-year-old male and 16-year-old male over video games. Both brothers were spoken to and denied any violence took place. The children were advised they needed to follow dads rules. No violence observed.

Littering

June 6

12:59 p.m., GAR Highway, Hambden. Pool dumped in township park dumpster. A swimming pool was placed in the township container. No leads or suspects at this time.

Suspicious

June 1

4:13 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Hambden. Person sitting next to a car in the parking lot of the Hambden Country Inn. Male passed out half way in car in parking lot. Male was intoxicated and sleeping until safe to drive home.

Weapons Offense

June 2

8:15 p.m., Leggett Road, Montville. Neighbors on Madison Road are shooting and the bullets are flying through out backyard and hitting our trees. Family is inside waiting for the deputies. Deputy advised. Another neighbor on Leggett has bullets from high-powered rifle flying through his property. This caller also would like to speak with a deputy.
