KHS Students of the Month

Congratulations to Kenston High School students of the month for January.

Selected for special recognition were freshmen Isabelle Puckett and Benjamin Simon; sophomores Dominique Kestranek and Luke Winovich; juniors Kelly Cregar and Christopher Hoffman; and seniors Brenna Farrar and Alan Tatro.

Rotary Senior

Owen Norley has been selected Kenston’s Chagrin Valley Rotary Club Student of the Month. He maintains a 4.4 grade point.

He has lettered in soccer, track and cross country. For the past two years, Owen has played soccer and cross country concurrently. As a junior, he earned first team All-Ohio track honors for academics and the 1600-meter. As a senior, he earned second team All-District honors in cross country and Chagrin Valley Conference honorable mention honors in soccer.

Owen is a member of the Academic Challenge team and Spanish Club. He is the treasurer for National Honor Society and co-treasurer of the senior class.

He has volunteered in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park District and the construction of Kenston Trails. As a member of the soccer team, he has participated in the “Soles for Souls” shoe collection project. He is also a member of Accent on Youth, a high school acting troupe that serves as role models to address issues of bullying, substance abuse and healthy choices.

He plans to study mathematics and/or engineering at Carnegie Mellon, The Ohio State University, Princeton, Case Western Reserve or Xavier.
