West G Junior Completing Eagle Scout Project
Jack Plank, a junior at West Geauga High School, is nearing completion of his Eagle Scout project, which began in April. He has constructed signage on the hillside of the high school facing Route 306 that is approximately 130-feet-by-10-feet. The sign displays “West Geauga High School” in blue-painted stone offset by white gravel, which highlights it from the road.
The final piece of the project to be completed is the installation of beds on each side of the sign that will include flowering trees. The plantings will be done over the next month to ensure optimum growth.
West Geauga Operations Manager Jim Russo, who originally initiated an idea for the project, stated, “The project at its current completion is very much in line with the project that I envisioned.”
“The project at its current completion is very much in line with the project that I envisioned,” said Jim Russo, West Geauga operations manager, who originally initiated an idea for the project.
Plank started in scouting as a Cub Scout in first grade, advancing to Boy Scouts during middle school.
He is grateful to Russo for the inspiration for his Eagle Scout project and to Peter Malak for assisting with his knowledge of building and construction.
West Geauga Schools is thankful to Plank for his demonstration of leadership while performing a project for the benefit of his community.
