Veterans Day Program: Nov. 12. The center will only be open to those who have registered for the event. All activities that regularly take place on Tuesdays will not be held.

Podiatrist Appointments: Nov. 13, 1 p.m. Call 440-279-2131 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Quercioli. Dr. Ritz will not be at the center in November.

Leading a Brain Healthy Lifestyle: Nov. 14, 12:30 p.m. Lynne from Kemper House will teach seniors ways to exercise their brains and stay healthy.

Diabetes Support Group: Nov. 12, 12:30 p.m. Led by Care Corp., a guest speaker will talk on the correlation of diabetes and low vision. Open to any senior.

Funeral Talk: Nov. 13, 10:30 a.m. Learn about the benefits of funeral pre-arrangements and how they can help protect ones loved ones. Sponsored by DeJohn Funeral Homes.

Water aerobics: Thursdays at 12:30 and 2 p.m. Classes offered in 4-week sessions by the month at Metzenbaum therapeutic pool. Register through the senior center.

Trip to Observatory Park with Amber: Nov. 13, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Lunch at the Liberty. Cost is $15. Registration required; space is limited.

What Should I Take?: Nov. 14, 11 a.m. Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services will provide tips on planning for an emergency and discuss how developing a plan can relieve anxiety.

Holiday Meals Seniors

The Geauga County Department on Aging will offer a traditional holiday meal to any Geauga County senior, age 60 and older, who will be home and alone on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28 and/or Christmas Day, Dec. 25.

A friendly volunteer will deliver a hot holiday meal to the seniors home and spend a little time visiting on Thanksgiving and/or Christmas day.

If one is or knows a senior citizen who will be home and along on the holidays, call the department on aging at 440-279-2130, 440-564-7131, ext. 2130 or 440-834-1856, ext. 2130.

Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP

The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP 4527 will meet Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road.

Novembers program includes a performance by The Cats Meow, a four-part ladies a cappella singing group, followed by a brief meeting with refreshments.

The holiday party is scheduled for Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. and will feature a buffet dinner with dessert at Sun Valley Party Center, 10000 Edwards Lane, Auburn Township. Tickets will be on sale at the November meeting or by calling Betty Scholz at 440-338-8321. Cost is $16 for members and $19 for nonmembers. Reservation deadline is Nov. 19.

The group is still collecting food for the Food for Friends food pantry and donations for the USO
