Bean Wins Valley Volleyball MVP
Cardinal junior Kaitlin Bean, an outside hitter, won the Chagrin Valley Conference’s Valley MVP, as voted on by the conference’s coaches.
Bean helped lead the Huskies to a 9-0 Valley record.
She has verbally committed to play volleyball at Ashland University after graduation.
Chardon Swim Team Hosts Invitational at Spire Institute
The Chardon High School Swim Team is once again hosting the Hilltopper Invitational at SPIRE Institute in Geneva.
An anticipated 15 schools will be attending the Dec. 14 swim meet. This year, the meet will be a scored meet, bringing the invitational to another level of competition.
The meet, in its second year, was created as an alternative to the Viking Invitational that is held at Cleveland State University the following weekend in December. Athletes that do not meet the time standards of the Viking Invitational are invited to swim the Hilltopper Invitational.
The Hilltopper Invitational is conducted under National Federation and OHSAA Rules for Swimming and Diving. Admission is: $6 for adults and $3 for students.
Berkshire Athletic Hall Announces Inductees
The Berkshire Badgers Athletic Hall of Fame has announced its 2013 induction class that will be honored Dec. 7 during the Berkshire vs. Cardinal basketball game.
The Ronyak family and coach Jack Arnold will be inducted for their meritorious service.
Bob Potter (1956), Jim Kellog (’76), Dave Mullet (’82), Kristin Chittle (’87) and Dale Duns (’91) will be inducted for their playing careers.
