Raymond C. Kralovic

Kralovic, Ray croppedDr. Raymond C. Kralovic, Ph.D., of Hambden Township, died Dec. 31, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic. He was 73.

Born Aug. 9, 1940, in Weirton, W.Va., to Carl and Myrtle (nee Cebula) Kralovic, he had been a 25-year area resident.

Ray was most notable for his contributions as technological founder and co-founder of STERIS Corp. in Mentor. After his retirement, he became actively involved in the entrepreneurial community of Northeast Ohio.

Ray enjoyed spending time on his property. His greatest loves were family, friends, campfires and the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Jude (nee Cangey), of Hambden; daughter, Georgia Kristen (Jake) Yanchar, of Chardon; sons, Mark (Kathy) Charlton, of Hambden, Bruce (Julie) Charlton, of Jefferson, and Leigh Charlton, of Hambden; and grandchildren, Josh, Jenni, Isaiah, Christian, Helena and Gordon Ray.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Jan. 6 at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.

Burial will follow in Chardon Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation is Jan. 5 from 1-3 p.m. and Jan. 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
