Call For Entries At Art Show
Fairmount Center for the Arts announces the 38th annual Fairmount Art Exhibition to be held June 1-12 at 8400 Fairmount Road in Russell Township. Artists of Northeast Ohio are invited to submit artwork on May 27, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Entry fee is $15 per piece, with a three piece maximum. Call 440-338-3171 for entry forms or download them at www.fairmountcenter.org.

The exhibition and special events are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays. Weekend hours are 1 to 6 p.m.
The public opening is May 31 from 6:30-9 p.m., with an awards ceremony at 7 p.m. Judges will share their expertise and insights concerning the exhibition during a gallery talk on June 6 from 7-9 p.m.
Fairy Specialist Visits GANG
On April 15, fairy specialist Karin Stubler will introduce the Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) to fairy lore, sharing her expertise on how to create a welcoming fairy garden. The educational program, which is free and open to the general public, will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. at Heinen’s Cafe, 402 Center St. in Chardon. No reservations are necessary.
A new resident of Geauga County, Stubler is the creative force behind the fairy garden department of Maple Ridge Garden Center, which is the largest supplier of fairy garden items in Northeast Ohio.
She will be offering instruction in developing fairy gardens this summer as part of the on-going workshop collaborations between The GANG, the Geauga Lyric Theater Guild and the Geauga Council for Arts and Culture.
The Geauga Arts Network Group is an ad hoc group whose mission is to promote communication, collaboration and cooperation across artistic disciplines for artists living and/or working in Geauga County. For more information, call Joanne Durante at 440-729-6481.
Juried Art Show
The 23nd annual Juried Art Show, sponsored by Rabbit Run Community Arts Association and the Madison Public Library, opens May 3. Applications for admission are currently being accepted.
The art show runs May 3-31 at the library and is open to all visual artists in Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties. Any high school or adult artist may submit up to three works.
Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded in all categories for both adults and students.
Applications for entry are available at RRCAA as well as local libraries. They may also be downloaded at www.rabbitrunonline.org. Applications will be accepted at the RRCAA office, 49 Park St., Madison Village, through April 24. Entry fee is $25 for adults and $7 for students.
The art show awards reception is at 2 p.m. May 4 at the Madison Public Library, 6111 Middle Ridge Road, Madison. All works selected for inclusion in the show will be exhibited and available for sale at the library from May 4 through June 1 during regular library hours.
