Historical Society Art Show
Newbury’s junior high and high school artists exhibited artwork at the annual Middlefield Art Show in early April. The show is a tradition in Geauga County, showcasing the best from the county.
Among the amazing artworks presented, Newbury’s artists showed a range of talent through two-dimensional pieces done in colored pencil, acrylic paint, oil pastel and printmaking. They also had a wonderful array of three-dimensional work that included wire sculpture, paper mache and found object assemblage.
The students have been very dedicated throughout the year to their artwork. Their work is always on view in the high school building and there are two students entered in a Congressional Art Show this spring.
Congratulations to the ribbons winners of this year’s Middlefield Art show.
High school winners include: Anna Koch, first place; and Zac Plesmid, second place. Students earning honorable mention are: Jon Ciariello (2), Faith Harrison, Madeline Hoffmann (2) and Zac Plesmid.
Junior high winners include: Heather Koplow, first place; and Lad Lubanovich, second place. Hayley Hamilton, Joe Koplow and Max Plesmid earned honorable mention honors.
