2014 Immunization Clinics

The Geauga County General Health District offers free walk-in immunization clinics for children and adolescents through the age of 18. Residents must present an immunization record as well as a current insurance card.

The following is a list of upcoming immunization clinics:

Chardon, June 12, Geauga County Health District, 470 Center St., Building 8, 3-6 p.m.

Middlefield, June 11, St. Lucy Mission, 16280 Kinsman Road, 9-11:30 a.m.

Middlefield, June 18, St. Lucy Mission, 16280 Kinsman Road, 9-11:30 a.m.

Middlefield, June 19, St. Lucy Mission, 16280 Kinsman Road, 3-6 p.m.

Troy, June 25, Troy Community Center, 13950 Main Market Road, 9-11:30 a.m.

Senior Connection

Lake Health will offer Senior Connection June 25 from noon to 1 p.m. in St. Denis Golf Club, 10660 Chardon Road in Chardon.

The Lunch and Learn program features a variety of topics dealing with seniors. June’s topic is “Weight-loss Myths Debunked.”

Lunch is $2. Registration is required by calling Lake Health’s Best of Health Line at 440-953-6000.

Blood Pressure Screenings

Lake Health will offer free blood pressure checks at the Chardon Campus, 510 Fifth Ave., from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

Bloodmobile

American Red Cross blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Donors may give every 56 days and must bring some form of photo identification and a list of all current medications.

NAMI Speaker Meeting

Anthony Niksa, clinical supervisor at Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers, will be the guest speaker at the NAMI Geauga County quarterly educational speaker meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 26 at the Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services building, 13244 Ravenna Road in Chardon. He will present “Mental Illness and Addiction: A Dual Diagnosis.”
