REVIEW AND REVISION TO LOCAL MITIGATION PLAN FOR

GEAUGA COUNTY, OHIO

The Geauga County Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee has completed reviewing and revising the local mitigation plan for Geauga County, Ohio, to reflect changes in development, progress in local mitigation efforts, and changes in priorities in accordance with 44 CFR 201.6. The Mitigation Plan addresses the types, location, probability and vulnerability to various natural hazards that may impact both property and citizens of Geauga County.

The public is invited to review the revised plan and provide comments to the Committee before it is submitted for review and final approval by the State of Ohio Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. A copy of the plan is posted on the County website at http://www.co.geauga.oh.us/Departments/ DES.aspx. The plan is also available for review by the public at the Geauga County Department of Emergency Services, 12518 Merritt Road, Chardon, Ohio. Please forward any comments to the Committee c/o Tara Vargovich, Deputy Director – Planning at tvargovich@co.geauga.oh.us or call (440) 279-2171.
