The Geauga Lyric Theater Guild is ready to entertain everyone with a summer filled with great shows for the whole family. Students of all ages are preparing to light up the stage for family and friends.
The summer season will open with the teen performance of “Grease: School Version.” The fabulous musical tells the classic story of love and friendship with the help of the Pink Ladies and the Burger Palace Boys. Show dates are July 17-19 at 7:30 p.m. and July 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and cost $10.
The youngest performers, ages 4 to 7 in the junior workshops, will delight with two performances. “The Shoemaker and the Elves” will be performed July 28 at 10:30 a.m. and “Thumbelina” will be performed July 26 at 10:30 a.m. Both junior workshop shows are complimentary.
The elementary workshops will share classic tales. “No Strings Attached” is a musical adaptation of “Pinocchio” and will be onstage July 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and July 26 at 2 p.m. The dramatic offering, “Jungle Book” adapted from the “Mowgli” stories by Rudyard Kipling will allow one to travel to an imaginary jungle. It will be performed July 31 and Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Aug. 2 at 2 p.m.
“The Neverending Story” will be performed by youth ages 10 to 17 on Aug. 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. Delve into a magical world told through a very curious book. Tickets for the elementary and tween performances are $6.
