Road Closing in Chardon
Ravenna Road will be closed one-quarter mile north of Woodin Road beginning Sept. 24 for road and drainage repairs, according to a news release from Geauga County Engineer Joe Cattell.
Detour is Hosford to state Route 44 to North Street.
The construction is expected to last two weeks, the news release stated.
Cafaro Hosts Community Meeting
State Sen. Capri S. Cafaro (D-Hubbard) will host a community meeting at the Chardon Library on Sept. 30, from 6:30-8 p.m..
Her legislative update will be held in the Bostwick Room.
The Chardon Library is at 110 East Park St.
Truck Fire Cause of Kinsman Accident
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a garbage truck load caught fire on Kinsman Road in Burton Township Monday around 4 p.m.
The driver pulled into a parking lot at 33049 Kinsman Road to dump the burning material so his truck would not burn up. When traffic slowed to look at the fire, several vehicles collided, the patrolman said.
No injuries were reported, but traffic was backed up along Kinsman for a mile or more during rush hour.
