James McNulty Dies in Motorcycle Accident
A Middlefield man was killed early Sunday when the motorcycle he was riding hit an embankment in Thompson Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
James McNulty, 60, was apparently traveling southbound on state Route 528 early Sunday morning.
Investigators said McNulty braked quickly as he was approaching Thompson Square. The 2013 Harley Davidson FLHX slid onto its side and continued straight when the road turned, going off the pavement and hitting an embankment in a construction area.
The crash was not discovered until daylight, and OSHP troopers were called to the scene at 7:47 p.m., according to the OSHP news release.
McNulty was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet and alcohol usage remains under investigation, as does the accident, according to the release.
