Kent Charles Mooney
Kent Charles Mooney, 55, tragically died in a motorcycle accident on September 17, 2014.
He was born in Chardon, on Oct. 3. 1958, to Chuck and Carole (nee Hastings) Mooney.
Kent is well-known for his athletic abilities, which enabled him to represent Chardon at the Ohio State track meet. To this day, one of his track records remains unbroken. Kent is a member of the Chardon Athletic Hall of Fame.
Kent graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in computer science. His career included data processing and working as a senior systems analyst.
He was also the creator Milestone Management, where he purchased, renovated and rented real estate properties.
Kent was a strong, loving husband and father who worked hard to provide for his family.
He passed on many skills and life lessons to his son, Nate, who cherishes all the great memories of their time together.
Kent and Deann enjoyed seeing the country through their many travels on their motorcycle. Nate and Deann are proud to have had such a devoted father/husband whose name will carry forward through the Kent Mooney Memorial Scholarship at Chardon High School.
Kent is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deann, of Chardon; son, Nathan (Keri), of Maryland; parents, Chuck and Carole, of Chardon; sisters, Lyn (Anderson) Allyn and Lee (Paul) Ogleby; and five nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on March 14, 2015, at Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St., Chardon, at 11 a.m. After the celebration, the family will receive guests, who are all invited to stay for a luncheon.
