Art From The Heart

Rescue Village will hold its fifth annual Art from the Heart holiday art show featuring nationally recognized local artists in a pop-up shop located at La Place, 2101 Richmond Road, Beachwood. The open house-style event takes place Dec. 12 from 5-9 p.m., Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Dec. 14 from 12-5 p.m.

The event will feature an art sale, artists raffle, adoptable animals, wine/mimosas and more. In addition, guests will enjoy live music by Texas Plant on Saturday at 7 p.m. and by David and Valerie Mayfield on Sunday at 2 p.m. Holiday photos will take place on Dec. 13 from 12-3 p.m. and kids can enjoy crafts and holiday gift shopping Dec. 13 from 12-5 p.m.

The free event is open to the public, with portions of the sales benefitting the homeless animals at Rescue Village.

For information, call Anna Marie Velazquez, marketing and events coordinator, at marketing@geaugahumane.org.

Annie Warbucks Opens Dec. 5

Geauga Lyric Theater continues its tradition of holiday entertainment with “Annie Warbucks,” running weekends Dec. 5-21.

The production picks up on Christmas Day, right after “Annie” ends. Daddy Warbucks loves Annie, but to adopt her as a single parent is frowned upon in the Depression era.

The cast, composed of seasoned veterans, brand new actors and those returning to an interest they held in high school, tell the story in song and dance with great enthusiasm.

Tickets are on sale now by calling the box office at 440-286-2255 or online at www.geaugatheater.org. The show will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

The historic Geauga Theater is located at 101 Water St. in Chardon.

Marquee sponsor is Chardon Smile Center.
