Diary of Anne Frank Coming to GLTG

The Geauga Lyric Theater will be presenting “The Diary of Anne Frank” weekends, March 6-22. Directed by Angela Miloro-Hansen, the play is based on a book of writings from the diary kept by Anne Frank while she was in hiding for two years with her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands.

A true story, the papers were found after the family’s capture by friends and hidden from the Gestapo. Anne’s story has touched many people’s hearts, and the sweet, sad and sometimes funny trials of her family, friends and strangers hiding for their lives has become a theater classic.

The historic Geauga Theater is on Chardon Square at 101 Water St., Chardon.

Winter Sing-Along During GLTG Membership Drive

The Geauga Lyric Theater Guild continues its membership drive through February with a Winter Sing-Along Night on Feb. 21 from 7-9 p.m. The event is free to members and open to all ages. Nonmembers may join at the door.

Group sing-alongs of popular show tunes with lyrics projected on the theater’s movie screen and age group “sing- offs” for prizes will be part of the fun. Refreshments will be provided.

Members are entitled to benefits including voting privileges at the annual election of board members, special events and show discounts, reduced fees for summer workshops and classes and access to a member’s only section on the Geauga Theater website featuring the quarterly newsletter. The newest perk is for cast members who belong to the Guild; they receive two complimentary tickets to the production in which they are involved.

Membership fees are $10 for seniors ages 60 and up and students, $15 for adults and $25 for a family membership.
