Elsie Gleske Rychak

DELAND, FL – Elsie Gleske Rychak, 93, of Deland, Fla., and formerly of Parma and Deltona, Fla., died May 17, 2015.

Elsie was the daughter of Gottlieb and Emma Gleske. She was married for over 50 years to her beloved husband, Harry Rychak.

Elsie was preceded in death by her first husband, William H. Weisman; son, William Edward Rychak; and sister Alma Gleske.

She is survived by her brothers, George (Shirley) Gleske, Gus (Jean Hickey) Gleske; and sisters Bertha Dudley, Eleanore Mandau, Gladys (Harry) Hackett and Lillian Kochis; daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann Rychak; and grandchildren, James and Danielle Rychak.

She also is survived by brothers- and sisters-in-law, James (Helen) Llewellyn, Peter (Dolores) Rychak and Paul Rychak.

Elsie was a special aunt to a host of nieces and nephews and a friend to many.

She loved quilting, baking and gardening. She was known for her cherry pies and pecan tarts.

Elsie belonged to the Emmaus Lutheran Church, of Orange City, Fla., where she made hundreds of quilts to be shipped overseas for the needy.

She was a blessing to family and friends.

Donations may be made to the Emmaus Lutheran Church, of Orange City, or to hospice of your choice.

A memorial service will be held at Emmaus Lutheran Church, of Orange City, at 11 a.m. June 20 and a grave side service is to be held at Riverview Memorial Park in Russell Township at 10 a.m. June 20.
