Singing in The Rain

Brooks House Assisted Living Community is beginning “Singing In The Rain,” a new series that explores ways to live with happiness despite one’s physical, mental, social or economical limitations. The series, which is free and open to the public, will feature monthly speakers or performers, a discussion and refreshments.
Enjoy a live performance by The AcaFellas band, a doo-wop quartet, at The Pines at Brooks House located at 18122 Claridon-Troy Road between Burton and Hiram.

Young at Heart
Aug. 21, noon
St. Anselm Young of Heart will meet at the parish center. A Geauga Park District naturalist will speak to the group about monarch butterflies.
The next meeting on Sept. 4 will include entertainment by the music of Steppin’ Out.
A fall trip is planned to Villa Roma Resort in the New York Catskills Oct. 5-9. Included are all meals, entertainment every night and all kinds of planned activities to do at the resort, as well as golf, horseback riding, bowling and bocci ball tournament. Also included is a tour of the Catskill Distilling Co. and the Stray Cat Gallery and an optional trip to the Monticello Casino.

Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP
Sept. 1, 1 p.m.
The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP 4527 will meet for its annual hot dog and chips lunch at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road. Call Betty Scholz at 440-338-8321 for reservations. Cost is $3.
Lunch will be followed by a brief meeting and information about upcoming trips.
