Vaccinations for Adults

Sept. 15, 2 p.m.

Burton Health Care Center and UH Geauga Medical Center will host a free presentation given by registered nurse Paula Leonette, UH corporate health nurse, at Burton Health Care Center, 14095 E. Center St. in Burton. The presentation will address all vaccines from flu, pneu-monia, hepatitis, shingles and more.

Free Vascular Screenings

Sept. 16, 9 a.m. to noon

University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, which provides services as part of the UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute, is holding free screenings for peripheral arterial disease (P.A.D.) on the first floor Cardiology at the center located at 13207 Ravenna Road.

Help for Mental Illness

Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offers support, education and advocacy for those affected by mental illness. Family-to-Family is a free educational course for family members, friends and caregivers of individuals living with mental illness.

The class will meet Saturdays, beginning Sept. 19, from 12-2 p.m., for 12 weeks at the office annex located at 103 South St. Suite 2, Chardon. For more information and to register, visit www.namigeauga.org.

NAMI Speaker Meeting

Sept. 23, 6:30 p.m.

Bethany Yeiser and her mom Karen Yeiser will be the guest speakers at the NAMI Geauga County educational speaker meeting at Notre Dame Educational Center, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon.

They will walk through their personal experience with schizophrenia and discuss the struggles families go through when a loved one is diagnosed with a serious mental health or addiction disorder.
