The Geauga County General Health District offers free walk-in immunization clinics for children and adolescents through the age of 18. Residents must present an immunization record as well as a primary insurance card.

County Offers Flu Shots

Geauga County Health District will provide flu shots for anyone over 19 years old from 8:30 to 11 a.m. every Friday through Oct. 30 at 470 Center St., Building 8, Chardon.

The health district is able to bill most Medicare and employer health plans. The cost to individuals paying in cash is $35, or, for high-dose vaccine, $50.

No appointment is necessary, but residents may register at the health district at 440-279-1950.

Help For Mental Illness

Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness offers support, education and advocacy for those affected by mental illness. A peer and family support group meeting will be held at at the Middlefield Public Library, 16167 East High St.

LGRC Grief Support

Mondays, 6-8 p.m.

Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers has announced the establishment of a new bereavement support group for families and individuals who have lost a loved one as a result of substance abuse or addiction. The group will meet at the LGRC office located at 9083 Mentor Ave., Mentor and be facilitated by a licensed counselor.

Group members will be assisted with identifying, processing and moving through stages of grief and receive education and support regarding the disease of addiction.

The group is open to the public and no pre-registration is required.

Flu Shots

Lake Health is offering quadrivalent flu shots for $30 at the Chardon Campus, 510 Fifth Ave., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No appointment is necessary. Individuals must be 18 years of age or older to receive the seasonal flu vaccine at our centers. The influenza vaccination is covered by Medicare.
