The Geauga County General Health District offers free walk-in immunization clinics for children and adolescents through the age of 18. Residents must present an immunization record as well as a primary insurance card. The following is a list of upcoming immunization clinics:

Blood Pressure Screenings
Lake Health will offer free blood pressure checks at the Chardon Campus, 510 Fifth Ave., from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
Monthly Support Groups
Geauga County National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) offers support, education and advocacy for those affected by mental illness.
NAMI Crafters Group will meet March 2 and 16 at 2 p.m. at the annex office at 107 South St., Chardon. All are welcome.
Peer Support (for those with mental health issues) is held at 7 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at 107 South St., Chardon. The next meeting is March 10.
Family and Friend Support (for those who have a loved one with an illness) meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Geauga West Library in Chester Township. The next meeting is March 10.
There is no cost nor reservation required for NAMI Geauga support groups. For more information, call the office at 440-286-6264.
Chardon Healthcare Center Earns Top Rating
Chardon Healthcare Center received a 5-Star overall rating from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services. The healthcare center, located at 620 Water St, offers short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing care and long-term care options. In addition, Chardon Healthcare Center offers specialized programs for cardiac care and veterans.
To earn an overall 5-Star rating the highest rating possible – a facility must score high in multiple areas of operations, including clinical quality, staffing and an annual survey conducted by the Ohio Department of Health. One to five stars are awarded in each category.
The public is invited to attend monthly educational programs, in addition to a community pancake breakfast, held on the second Tuesday of each month. The next scheduled breakfast is March 8. The presentation topic is “Diabetes Self Awareness and Management.

Bloodmobile
American Red Cross blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Eligible blood donors of all types are needed, especially those with O, AB, B negative and A negative.
