In addition to fireworks, the Chardon High School Alumni Association in concert with Chardon Local Schools will be hosting an alumni get-together in the Chardon High School cafeteria from 7 p.m. until the fireworks show. All CHS alumni and their friends are invited. On display will be the alumni association’s memorabilia collection.

Refreshments will be provided at various locations throughout the grounds.

The Chardon Schools Foundation will also be selling glowing necklaces and other “night delights” throughout the crowd.

Old Glory Day takes place at 1 p.m. July 4 on Chardon Square with a parade, ice cream from Chardon Rotary, contests and more.

KOC Ceremony

July 3, 1 p.m.

The Knights of Columbus Council 15942 invites the public to a patriotic Independence Day ceremony at St. Mary Church, 401 North St. in Chardon. Join in front of the church for a flag raising honoring local veterans and to learn about this important day in U.S. history.

Children in attendance will receive a flag and free copies of the U.S. constitution will be available.

Bring worn U.S. flags for collection and a respectful retirement.

In case of rain, the ceremony will be in the church gathering space.
