Board of Mental Health Elects New Officers

The Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services announced the election of new officers of the board for state fiscal year 2017.

At their June 15 board meeting, members elected Alberta Chokshi as chairman of the board, Al Cisan as vice chairman, Suzi Breedlove as secretary and Linda Miller as treasurer.

The Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services is responsible for the distribution of funds and administration of public mental health, alcohol and drug addiction services in Geauga County.

It is the primary responsibility of the board to develop, promote, and monitor services, facilities, and programs that are responsive to the behavioral health care needs of the citizens of Geauga County.

The board currently needs volunteers who are interested in having an impact on mental health and recovery services provided in the county. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and reside in Geauga County to be considered for an appointment to the board.
