Notice is hereby given that sealed bids marked as “GEAUGA COUNTY COURTHOUSE BASEMENT REHAB” will be received during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday until 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2016, in the Geauga County Board of Commissioners Office at 470 Center Street, Bldg. #4, Chardon, Ohio 44024, or by mail at the same address. Bids received shall be publicly opened and read aloud the same day at said office at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2016.
The specifications will be available for inspection at the Maintenance Department, 470 Center Street, Building #1-B, Chardon, Ohio, during normal business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday from Thursday, July 21, 2016, UNTIL 1:45 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2016. The Engineer’s construction cost estimate for the project is $122,400. A Pre-Bid Meeting will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Geauga County Courthouse, 100 Short Court Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024.
The bid packages may be picked up at the Geauga County Maintenance Department, 470 Center Street, Building #1-B, Chardon, Ohio. Each bid must be accompanied by either a bid bond in the amount of 100% of the total bid amount with a surety satisfactory to the aforesaid Geauga County, or by a certified check, cashier’s check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in the amount of not less than 10% of the bid amount, in favor of the aforesaid Geauga County. The Bid Guaranty must be submitted as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a proper contract in accordance with the bid, bid package documents and specifications, and plans, if any, will be entered into and its performance properly secured.

A 100% Performance bond will be required from the approved bidder prior to entering into a contract. All Bid, Performance, Maintenance and Labor & Material Bonds shall be accompanied by proof of authority of the official or agent signing the bond.   Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements of this bid packet, particularly to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wages and various insurance requirements.
Geauga County reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof, and to waive any informalities and/or irregularities in the bids. The County’s decision on any award is final.
