GCPL Adds New Bookmobile
Geauga County Public Library introduces its newest member of the outreach fleet, the GCPL Fun Bus. The 30-foot vehicle holds approximately 3,500 materials and makes up to 25 stops per week. The vehicle goes to places including the YMCA, Chagrin Falls Park, Pleasant Hill, Notre Dame, Metzenbaum, WomenSafe, the Ravenwood homes, daycares, preschools and many others.
Mobile services now operates two full-size Bookmobiles, one Lobby Stop vehicle and one car to visit homebound patrons, effectively serving about 3,500 people every month.
The existing Bookmobile will remain on the road and will continue to primarily serve the Amish population. The new Bookmobile is targeting many non-Amish stops. However, both vehicles are available to bring materials to people who need them.

Genealogy Beginners Class
July 19, 7 p.m.
The lecture will teach the basics about gathering information, using charts and documenting. Also covered will be tech tools, including free online tutorials and databases. Registration required.

Diabetes management is a program to empower individuals with diabetes to effectively manage their diabetes by utilizing skills that will enable them to lead healthy, active lives. Learn more about diabetes management with the experts from UH Geauga Medical Center. Registration required.
Chardon’s Future: Imagining Space for Community
July 26, 7 p.m., Heritage House, Chardon Square
The free monthly film series will present issues faced by other cities and discuss the problems, lessons and solutions that have relevance to the City of Chardon. Each film will be followed by a panel discussion with civic leaders and experts, moderated by local attorney Matt Rolf. Audience participation in the discussion will be encouraged. This month’s film shown will be “10 Parks That Changed America” by PBS.
Registration is not required.
Your First Yoga Class
July 28, 6:30 p.m.
Teacher Denise Musgrave will lead adults through beginner’s mat yoga in a low-stress library setting. Dress comfortably and bring a mat. A towel and water bottle is also suggested. The event qualifies participants for the library’s W.O.R.K.Out challenge.
The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Friends of the Library Book Sale
The Geauga West Friends of the !Library summer book sale begins July 27, with a members-only preview from 4-6 p.m. and is then open to the public from 6-8:30 p.m. Sale will continue July 28, 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; July 29, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and July 30, which is $3 Bag Day, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Stop in to find some unbelievable deals on great books, CDs and other items. All proceeds help to fund programs, prizes and other library offerings.

The summer session will be ending July 21. The fall session starts on Sept. 12; registration will commence at the end of August. The library staff thanks everyone for the terrific attendance this summer and eagerly looks forward to serving everyone in the fall.
