Ohio State University Extension and the Geauga County Job and Family Services are presenting a Financial Education Workshop on Sept. 19 and Oct. 3 from 6-8 p.m. at the Chardon Public Library. The two-part workshop is free and open to the public.
The first workshop is designed to get one thinking about money and money issues in a new way. Topics will include communicating about money, tracking spending, identifying spending leaks and organizing documents and valuable papers.
The second workshop will focus on the step-by-step process to set up a budget and get rid of debt. Other topics of discussion include establishing credit, how to repair credit, understanding a credit report and credit card debt.
The instructors will be Terri Worthington, family and consumer sciences educator from Ohio State University Extension, and Sara Shininger, Geauga County Job and Family Services. To register, call Ohio State University Extension at 440-834-4656.
