Sheriff’s Report

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Oct. 7-13. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 379 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Oct. 8
4:08 p.m., Reeves Road, Parkman. Would like someone to come and look at our dog. On thursday night my family told me that someone cut my dogs neck. We’ve been trying to take care of the dog ourselves but would still like someone to take a look at him. On going problems lately, have spoken with several officers. Deputy advised. Complainants dog has a clean cut on the left side of it’s neck. Possible knife, happened sometime last thursday or friday morning after 2 a.m.

EXTRA PATROL

Oct. 9
8:18 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Burton. White Nissan Altima driven by young people who jump out of the car wearing car masks frightening the motorists when parked at Claridon Troy and Taylor Wells.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Oct. 11
11:54 a.m., Orange Lane, Auburn. Damage to property from 4-wheelers. They are also concerned because they are racing up and down the street all the time. Requesting extra patrol also. Deputy advised. Complainant stated that kids are riding 4-wheelers on the roadway at high speeds after school and on weekends. There was a tire mark off the roadway and small amount of gravel on the roadway. Road Department contacted to repair.

SUSPICIOUS

Oct. 7
3:10 p.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Claridon. Someone was in the driveway when the kids tried to get off the bus, so they did not get off the bus. Mother is afraid to go out to her car because she does not know where the person is. Person was wearing jean over-alls. Deputy checked around the residence, neighborhood and bike path. Unable to locate.
