Skylark Bruce, of Canton, will be the featured poet at Bistro 70 in Painesville. She writes and performs pieces as a woman, progressive Christian, vegetarian and artistic up-cycler. Her first poetry book was titled “I Wish.”

Good Tiding Benefit Choir Recruiting Voices

It is time again for the voices of the Good Tiding Benefit Choir to come together to raise spirits and funds for the Geauga Hunger Task Force. All practices will be held on Sundays from 2-4 p.m. at Notre Dame Chapel, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson. This year marks the choir’s 28th anniversary.

Practices start Feb. 12 for the second and third sections of Handel’s “Messiah.” The choir is open to high school students and older. Participants may bring their own score or there will be copies available for approximately $8. Solo auditions will take place during the practices.

The spring programs are April 1 at 7 p.m. and April 2 at 3 p.m. The choir may take the program on the road April 9 at another location.

Lake And Geauga Art Show

The annual juried art show features 432 pieces of artwork created by middle and high school students from Lake and Geauga county school districts, with scholarship and monetary prizes awarded. The exhibition runs from through Feb. 18, with an artist reception and awards ceremony slated for Feb. 18 at noon in the Dr. Wayne L. Rodehorst Performing Arts Center on the first floor of D-Building on Lakeland’s main campus, 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland. All shows are free and open to the public.

In addition to the show, students and their parents are invited to attend an open house Feb. 18 at 10:30 a.m.
