Paula Lambert from Columbus is the featured poet at the next gathering of Words and Wine at Rider’s Inn, 792 Mentor Ave, Painesville. A residency artist for the Ohio Arts Council Arts Learning Program, she has authored three books of poetry. Open mic precedes her reading.

Lakeland Jazz Festival
March 16-18
The Lakeland Jazz Festival celebrates its 46th year in the Dr. Wayne L. Rodehorst Performing Arts Center in the D-Building on Lakeland’s main campus at 7700 Clocktower Drive, Kirtland.
This year’s festival features headliner Donald Harrison and his quartet, a tribute to Tadd Dameron and a big band matinee featuring the Lakeland Civic Jazz Orchestra and the Youngstown State University Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Quintet.

Messiah Choir Returns to Benefit Food Pantries
March 18 and 25, 3 p.m.
The Good Tidings Benefit Choir will continue its legacy of raising spirits and funds for the Geauga Hunger Task Force by performing the Easter sections of GF Handel’s “Messiah” at Notre Dame Chapel, 13000 Auburn Road in Munson Township.
Guest performers will be dulcimers from Pilgrim Brass on March 18 and Spirit Bound on March 25.
The choir is under the direction of Robert Boles and accompanied by Joy Leirer.
All attendees will be invited to join in the Hallelujah chorus.
The performances are free, but a goodwill offering will be taken.
