On Jan. 26, Nathan Short, of Chester Township, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts of America. His accomplishment represents years of work, participation, dedication and learning in the Boy Scout program. Nathan, formerly a member of Troop 316 in Fowler’s Mill, recently joined Troop 91 in Munson Township.

In order to satisfy the requirements for the Eagle rank, Nathan had to earn 21 merit badges, participate in troop meetings and activities, provide leadership within his troop and organize and lead a service project. For his Eagle project, Nathan led a team of volunteers in constructing cabinets to hold music folders for the West Geauga High School Band.

Nathan will be formally presented the Eagle Scout award at a Court of Honor ceremony on June 12 at the Prince of Peace Church in Chester Township.
