Food Pantry Open
June 24, 10 a.m. to noon
The food pantry at Chester Christian Center Church is open to anyone who is in need of food. One does not need to be a member of the church to come to the food pantry.
The church is located at 11815 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township.
Animal Adventures Program
June 24-26
Coyote Peterson, host of the animal adventure series “Breaking Trail” on Discovery Network, will host “Animal Adventures with Coyote Peterson” at The Holden Arboretum. The program will run Friday from 6-8 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The family-friendly educational event focusing on wildlife allows individuals to get up close with some of the Arboretum’s incredible wildlife, including frogs, snakes and snapping turtle. Bring a drink and snack to eat on the trail.
The two-hour program is $15 per person for members of the Arboretum and Cleveland Botanical Garden and $25 per person for nonmembers. The three-hour program, which includes an exploration of the Arboretum’s Corning Lake, is $20 per person for members and $30 per person for nonmembers.

Tails at Twilight
June 25, 6:30 p.m.
The 2016 Tails at Twilight annual event to benefit the animals of Rescue Village will be held at the shelter located at 15463 Chillicothe Road, Russell Township. Presented by Burton Carol Management and Hardy Animal Nutrition, it is the shelter’s largest fundraiser of the year.
Enjoy a fun-filled night under the stars consisting of dinner, a silent auction, paddle auction, wine pull, music by Kristen Jackson, entertainment by Rock the House and more.

DTJ Chicken and Duck Dinner
June 26, 12-2 p.m.
DTJ Taborville is hosting a chicken and duck dinner of the year at 9850 North Blvd. in Auburn Township. Cost is $12.50 for an adult dinner and $6.50 for a children’s chicken dinner. A half duck dinner is $17.50.

Concert In The Park
July 6, 7-9 p.m.
Swingtime Big Band will be performing a free concert at the gazebo in Chester Township Parkside Park. Free popcorn will be provided along with pop and water at nominal prices.
The 17-piece big band specializes in the tunes of yesteryear ranging from Glen Miller hits and swing to Latin and Motown. Vocalist Curtis Avant provides a lively performance of song styles ranging from Frank Sinatra to ’60s rock.
Presented by the West Geauga Kiwanis Club in conjunction with the Chester Township Park Commission. Concert schedule is available at www.wgkiwanis.org.
In event of rain, concert will be moved to Mayfield United Methodist Church, 7747 Mayfield Road, Chester Township.

Geauga Bowmen Archery
July 9 & 10
Cookout and Shoot Out is July 9, with registration from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and July 10, with registration from 8 a.m. to noon, at Geauga Bowmen Archery 12525 Sperry Road in Chester Township.
All shoots are open to the public with equipment available. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for cubs. Food and refreshments available.

Registration for the seventh annual Shawn Wilkes Memorial Poker Run begins at 10:30 a.m. at Hickory Lake Tavern, 14592 Stone Road in Newbury. All vehicles welcome. Kickstands up at noon; all back by 5 p.m.
Dinner served from 4-7 p.m. Event includes music, Chinese auction and door prizes. Cost is $25 per couple or $15 per single. All proceeds benefit the Shawn Wilkes Memorial Athletic Scholarship Fund.

Cardinal Grand Reunion

Food Pantry Open
The Chesterland Food Pantry at Christ Presbyterian Church, 12419 Chillicothe Road, provides, food to low-income families and individuals who are Geauga County residents. The pantry hours are: Monday, 6:30-8 p.m.; Tuesday, 9:30-11 a.m.; Wednesday, 1-2:30 p.m.; and Thursdays, from 10-11:30 a.m. ID is required for each member of the family.
Parade Participants Needed

Parade participants are needed for the 82nd annual Harvest Festival Parade held at DTJ Taborville in Auburn Township. Wanted are cars, tractors, bands, drummers, horses and more.
The parade lines up at 1 p.m. and steps off at 2 p.m. Festivities begin at 11 a.m.

Vendors Sought for Arts Fair

The Auburn Firedevils, auxiliary to the Auburn Volunteer Fire Department, is holding an arts, crafts and consultants fair at Adam Hall, 11455 E. Washington St. in Auburn Township.
The group is currently looking for vendors to sell at the event. Tables are $25 each. Tables and chairs are provided. There is ample parking.
