Fall Trash Day

Fall Trash Day will take place at the township park Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon. The township will also be offering secure shredding to residents from 9 a.m. to noon. No yard waste, garbage, paint or hazardous chemicals will be accepted. Paint cans must be empty with any excess completely dry. The township will accept old appliances, building scrap, lawn mowers and even boats.

Call the township hall at 440-286-4364 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with any questions.

Park Improvements

The road crew has been working hard all summer on the extension of the township’s park walking trail, which was partially funded through a NatureWorks grant. The workers are in the final stages right now and soon it will be ready for residents to enjoy for years to come.

Thanks go to summer crew member Eric Germovsek for all of his hard work. He will be leaving the crew this week to return to his fall/winter/spring job as a teacher for Ledgemont Schools. Have a great year at school Eric and we hope to see you again next summer.

Luckily, we still have part-timers Rich Edelinsky and Barry Bishop to help out until the leaves start falling.

Free Coffee Monday

Hambden Congregational Church is serving free coffee on Mondays from 6-8:30 a.m. The drive-through coffee service will continue each and every Monday morning through Labor Day.

Plan on stopping by to enjoy a free cup of Monday morning coffee. The church is located at 13840 GAR Hwy., across from Hambden Elementary School.

Car Show

Hambden Congregational Church invites the community to its car show on Sept. 7. Registration is from noon to 1 p.m. Show time is 1-4 p.m.

The free event is for the whole family. There will be face painting, a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle, DJ and food.
