Government

All township meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend. Contact us at 440-636-5486 for more information. The next meeting will be May 19.

Recent public actions at trustees meetings have caused the Huntsburg Township Board of Trustees to adopt the following resolution. Anyone wishing to be placed on the agenda should contact Nancy Saunders, chairman, at 440-636-5486 ext. 4 or email huntsburgtwp@windstream.net.

Minutes from meetings are posted on the township’s Facebook page or call the office to request a copy.

Memorial Day services have been cancelled for this year. Flags will still be placed on the graves thank to the Huntsburg Historical Society members.

Cemetery

Maintenance will be cleaning the cemetery and preparing it for Memorial Day. If there any items one wishes to keep, please remove them. All old wreaths and unsightly items left at the graveside will be discarded.

No plantings are permitted. Artificial flowers or ornaments are permitted on the graves until they become weather beaten. The township is not responsible for damage or theft of such items and may remove them if they become unsightly

Roads

Township maintenance is currently working on pulling in road edges, filling holes and accessing what needs to be done on each road prior to the application of dust control. Bids for dust control have been advertised and will be reviewed at the May 5 meeting.

Depending on monies available in the road and bridge fund, a decision will be made if roads will be treated.

Be advised that residents are responsible for keeping their drive pipes clean and free of debris. Please clean out pipes to keep the ditches flowing. Call and report any serious road problem, flooding on roads, fallen limbs or other hazard the township should be aware of. Residents may leave a message at 440-636-5486, option 1.

Zoning

Zoning Inspector Paul Tucker is available by appointment for zoning permits, exemptions, conditional use permits and variances. He may be reached by calling the township offices at 440-636-5486 ext. 3. Leave a message for a return call.

Zoning permits are required for all building projects, even agricultural buildings. Some may be exempt from fees but still require an application to be submitted. The township does not know what one is constructing if an application is not submitted.

Zoning permit applications are available in the town hall foyer.
