4-H Style Review
The 2026 Geauga County 4-H Style Review was held on July 14 at Berkshire School. Participants, most of whom are members of either the 4-H club Sew Sew Sweet or the 4-H club Giggles and Stitches, arrived throughout the day with their clothing, shopping or quilting projects and were judged by either Daphne H. or Larissa H. The Cloverbuds, who are the youngest 4-H’ers and are not yet competing, received a talk from Roseanne S.
Participants and their sewing or shopping projects were judged on the design, fashion, construction, fit, posture and poise, grooming, personable qualities and their project book. After judging, participants were awarded a first-, second- or third-place ribbon based on their judging score.
The style show was held in the evening. The 4-H seniors who were competing were recognized and given a sash and gift. In addition, all participants received a gift of either a sewing notion or gift card, all of which were provided by the donations from the Keep Kids Sewing donation drive. Each participant modeled her outfit or showed her quilt on the auditorium stage. After each category finished styling, the judges revealed the winners. Many competitors received rosettes for Outstanding of the Day, State Fair Qualifier or State Fair Alternate.
The Geauga County Junior Fair Court was in attendance and helped hand out awards. After modeling their sewing projects, the Cloverbuds all received a rosette for their participation. Additional awards and nominations were given near the end of the show. (Submitted by Bethany Shively, member of the Geauga County 4-H Fashion Board)
