GLTG Holds Auditions

The Geauga Lyric Theater Guild will hold open auditions for the hit musical, “The Fantasticks,” by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt and directed by J.E. Ballantyne. Ballantyne recently directed “The Wizard of Oz” at GLTG.

Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. July 7 and 8 at the Log Cabin on East Park Street on Chardon Square.

Music rehearsals will begin in late July with full rehearsals in early August. Show dates are Sept. 12-14, 19-21 and 26-28.

Questions about the show and character requirements can be directed to the director at 330-799-6176 or 330-402-9273.

The historic Geauga Theater is located at 101 Water St. Tickets or season passes can be purchased through www.geaugatheater.org or by calling the box office at 440-286-2255.

Gospel Echoes to Sing at Upcoming Festivals

The Gospel Echoes will sing at the Garrettsville SummerFest, June 28, from 11 a.m. until noon and also at the Mespotamia Ox Roast, July 4, from 9:30 a.m. until noon.

Both events are free to the community, said Gospel Echoes singer Eric Nelson.

They will perform southern gospel songs at both locations.

“So, pack up the babies, bring the old ladies, a lawn chair, a friend, a smile and get ready to sing,” Nelson said. “Cause that’s how we do it in the South.”
