Season Opens With The Fantasticks

The world’s longest running musical, performing off-Broadway for 42 years, is opening the Geauga Lyric Theater’s 60th season on Sept. 12. Directed by J.E. Ballantyne and with music direction by John Krol, excitement is building among the cast and crew. Producer Mark Miloro thinks there is something for everyone in this production.

“The Fantasticks” is kind of a 1960s fairy tale. Star-crossed young lovers Luisa (Katie Malish) and Matt Hucklebee (Matt Gittens) struggle with parental interference and a host of strange happenings. The beautiful singing voice of Katie, a junior at NDCL, is matched by her counterpart, Matt, a senior at Chardon High School.

It is not too late to get a season pass. Through the show’s opening, receive the gift of a free $10 concession card with every regular season pass purchased.

Tickets or season passes can be purchased through www.geaugatheater.org or by calling the box office at 440-286-2255.

The historic Geauga Theater is located at 101 Water St. in Chardon.
