Murder Comes To GLTG Stage

When preparing for the 60th season of the Geauga Lyric Theater Guild, a decision was made to highlight some of the shows from the past decades. Last performed at GLTG in 1978 and 2001 under the older title, “Ten Little Indians,” “And Then There Were None” has always been a popular title by Agatha Christie.

It is the classic mystery of 10 strangers called together in a mansion on an island, only to be anonymously accused of murder, and then begin to die one by one. Energetic and bubbly director Debbie Cluts challenges the actors to go beyond their comfort zone, to bring their characters alive.

The cast is a comfortable mix of Geauga Theater regulars and brand new actors to its stage. Whether one has never seen the play or have seen it 20 times, anyone who wants a chilling mystery — especially in time for Halloween — will find everything they want within “And Then There Were None.”

The show runs Oct. 17 through Nov. 2; reservations are being taken now. Marquee sponsor is H&R Block.

The Geauga Lyric Theater is located at 101 Water St. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to www.geaugatheater.org or call 440-286-2255.

Killeen Opens Studio For GANG

On Oct. 21 from 6:30-8 p.m., the Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) will visit the studio of abstract impressionist artist Dennis Killeen at 119 Main St. on Chardon Square. The general public is invited to attend the educational program in which teacher and multi-media artist Deb Steytler will be painting Killeen’s portrait “live,” as Killeen shares stories of his life as an artist, Global Volunteer and former music industry executive.

Refreshments will be provided and guests are encouraged to bring finger-food appetizers or desserts to share. Killeen Studio is not handicapped accessible.

The Geauga Arts Network Group is an ad hoc group whose mission is to promote communication, collaboration, and cooperation across artistic disciplines for artists living and/or working in Geauga County.
