GLTG Murder Mystery Dinner

At the Miss Perky Pout Competition, the girls take no prisoners. Neither does the emcee, the judges or the stage moms. What will they do to win the title?

Find out on Nov. 15 at 6 p.m., along with an excellent dinner at Quail Hollow Resort, while bidding on baskets filled with goodies, mystery boxes and raffles during the fifth annual murder mystery dinner and auction fundraiser for Geauga Lyric Theater.

“The Beauty Pageant” by Joh Mann, directed by Angela Miloro-Hansen, gathers some familiar theater faces eager to ham it up for a dinner crowd.

Tables seat 12. Tickets are $45 each or $80 per couple. Table sponsors are available for $600 and receive additional benefits.

Art From The Heart

Rescue Village will hold its fifth annual Art from the Heart holiday art show featuring nationally recognized local artists in a pop-up shop located at La Place, 2101 Richmond Rd, Beachwood. The open house-style event takes place Dec. 12 from 5-9 pm, Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Dec. 14 from 12-5 p.m.

The event will feature an art sale, artists raffle, adoptable animals, wine/mimosas and more. In addition, guests will enjoy live music by Texas Plant on Saturday at 7 p.m. and by David and Valerie Mayfield on Sunday at 2 p.m.

The free event is open to the public, with portions of the sales benefitting the homeless animals at Rescue Village.

Civic Orchestra and Chorus Combine for Romantic Masterworks

The Lakeland Community College Civic Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Matthew Saunders, Lakeland music department chair, will present “Hearts and Voices” Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. in the Dr. Wayne L. Rodehorst Performing Arts Center on the college’s main campus, 7700 Clocktower Drive in Kirtland.

It is the first time in seven years that the Civic Orchestra and the Lakeland Civic Chorus perform together onstage.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and $2 for students. For tickets, call 440-525-7134.

Words and Wine

Dr. Robert Coughlin and Suzanne Ondrus, Lakeland Community College poets, will be the featured poets for Words and Wine Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Your Vine or Mine? located at 154 Main St. in Painesville. Open mic precedes their appearances.
