Call For Entries At Art Show

May 26, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Fairmount Center for the Arts announces the 39th annual Fairmount Art Exhibition to be held May 30 through June 11 at 8400 Fairmount Road in Russell Township. Artists of Northeast Ohio are invited to submit artwork on May 26, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Entry fee is $15 per piece, with a three piece maximum. Call 440-338-3171 for entry forms or download them at www.fairmountcenter.org. Call Fairmount for a description of competition categories, specific rules and entry requirements.

The exhibition and special events are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays. Weekend hours are 1 to 6 p.m.

The opening reception is May 30, from 6:30-9 p.m., with an awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Judges will hold a gallery talk on June 5 from 7-9 p.m.

Words and Wine

June 2, 6:30 p.m.

Sara Tracey will be the featured poet at Your Vine or Mine?, 154 Main St. in Painesville. A local of northeast Ohio, she is the author of “Some Kind of Shelter” and the chapbook “Flood Year.”

Open mic for poetry will precede her reading. Tobin Terry will host.

Fairmount Voice Recital

June 5, 7 p.m.

Fairmount Center presents a voice recital by the students of David Fuller at Church of St. Anselm, 12969 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township. Daniel Parvin is the accompanist.

Enjoy an evening of vocal music. Students come from all over Geauga and eastern Cuyahoga counties.
