Boosters Reverse Raffle
The Chardon Athletic Boosters is hosting the annual reverse raffle at 6 p.m. March 8 at LaMalfa Party Center in Mentor.
Tickets are $125 per couple and $90 per single and include open bar and a formal buffet including beef, chicken, fish and pasta. The night will also include a disc jockey, dancing, main board prize, side boards, Bingo, Deal or No Deal and silent auction.
Proceeds from the event will benefit both Chardon High School and Chardon Middle School athletic programs.
This is the Chardon Athletic Boosters’ biggest fundraiser of the year. We hope to see you there.
One Book One School
Beginning Feb. 19, Hambden Elementary School will be reading “A Cricket in Times Square.” Every student and every staff member will have a copy of the book. The hope is that each family will come together on a daily basis to read a chapter.
A calendar is being provided so everyone stays on the same schedule. In addition, an audio file will be posted daily to give students an opportunity to hear the staff read to them. Just click on the link for the chapter you would like to hear.
Keep March 19 open as there will be a special family night to celebrate the completion of the book.
Thanks goes to all of the committee members for their hard work planning this great event.
After Prom News
It’s time to start planning for after prom on May 11. Please join a fantastic group of parents who work together to decorate the school and host a fantastic event that the children cherish and remember as an important part of their high school days.
Volunteers are needed to take leadership positions in decorating areas of the school and running the Monte Carlo games as well as people willing to shadow current leaders who are graduating for the kitchen and carnival games areas.
Everyone works together to come up with ideas for decorating and many people are needed to help make those ideas come to life. With lots of help, no one gets overwhelmed and it’s a great way to meet other parents, have fun and support the kids.
Decorating workshops begin in March. Contact CoCo Griffis cocogriffis@live.com to help participate.
Heinen’s ABC Program
Heinen’s will donate up to 1 percent of qualified purchases from customers that have selected one of the Chardon schools and uses their Heinen’s preferred shopper card when they shop.
Heinen’s customers may select their school of choice anytime between September and April by logging into their Tasteful Rewards profile page at www.heinensrewards.com.
Customers needing assistance may contact Heinen’s Customer Relations department at 855-475-2300, ext. 2337.
Delayed Start For CHS
Chardon High School will have a delayed opening for juniors and seniors who have fulfilled the standardized testing component of their graduation requirements. The reason for this delayed opening is to provide an opportunity to administer the state and federal required standardized testing to freshmen and sophomore students.
Those seniors and juniors who have passed all five areas of the Ohio Graduation Test may report as late as 9:45 a.m. First period classes will begin at 10 a.m. for all students.
Watch for important information mailed home regarding the week of March 11-15. Printable practice OGT tests are available online at www.success.ode.state.oh.us.
