Breeders and Feeders

The Breeders and Feeders 4-H Club held its regular monthly meeting on Jan. 20 at the Munson Township Hall. Prior to the business meeting, the rabbits, pigs and poultry groups met with their individual advisors to go over the fundamentals of those species. The regular business meeting was then held.

All members turned in items for Chinese auction baskets for Austin Hunts benefit, which will be held Feb. 16 from 4-7 p.m. at the Middlefield Market Pavilion.

It was discussed that after the next meeting, the group will go roller skating at Chagrin Roller Rink. The club will pay for the rental of the rink and each member will be responsible for the cost of skate rental.

Enrollment forms for 2013 were passed out and Mrs. Teichman asked to have them turned in at the February meeting. It was stated that camp counselors are still needed for camp June 16-22. The dates were announced for Quality Assurance of May 4 and Skillathon of July 13.

After the business meeting, the beef members stayed and went over the fundamentals of beef species.

The next meeting will be held on Feb. 17 at the Munson Township Hall. (Submitted by Kelli Briggs, news reporter)
