Business Fair Fun
As part of the economics unit, Kenston Intermediate School fifth-graders were challenged to start and operate their own business. They were responsible for developing a business plan for a Winter Carnival booth or game, creating a marketing plan and constructing the booth. The game booths were brought to school on Valentine’s Day.
Stellar Spellers
The Kenston District Spelling Bee was held on Feb. 1 in the Betty Patton room at Kenston Middle School. Eighth-grader Sydney Winovich won the competition after 14 rounds and 171 words were spelled. Mark Gradl and Grace Geisler were the runners-up.
Sydney represented Kenston at the Geauga County Spelling Bee held on Feb. 12.
Parent Information Night
Discover what a “typical day” will be like for your child at the kindergarten parent information night on March 6 at 7 p.m. in the Gardiner Early Learning Center gymnasium, 9421 Bainbridge Road. Important information about the curriculum will be offered, including an overview of the benefits of the half-day kindergarten program and the full day program.
Kindergarten will be moving to Timmons Elementary School starting in the 2013-2014 school year.
Registration packets, including necessary school forms and general information, must be picked up at the orientation meeting.
Even if you are not sure whether your child is ready for kindergarten in the fall, come to the orientation. After the orientation, if you still have questions, contact Principal Marilyn Kahle at 440-543-2822.
