OPERS Retirees Meeting

Geauga County Public Employee Retirees (PERI) 86, an organization that supports the retirement system and benefits, will meet at St. Mary’s Church, 401 North St. in Chardon. Join for a holiday lunch and a speaker from Protect Geauga Parks.

Lunch is $12, payable at the door. Reservations are due by Dec. 23. For information, call Catherine at 440-286-3730.

Fairmount Winter Registration

Registration for winter session at Fairmount Center for the Arts in Russell Township is now open. Classes begin Jan. 2. With 10-week classes, mini classes and workshops available, Fairmount offers a variety of programs in art, dance, music, theatre and fitness.

Rescue Village Winter Camp

Dec. 29-30, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Rescue Village’s Kids Winter Camp is open for registration. The camp is for children ages 9-11 and will be held at Rescue Village. Fee of $100 is due at the time of registration.

Campers will learn about adaptations in animals during the winter months and what they can do to help. Activities will be held indoors as well as outdoors.

VFW Fitness Classes

The Middlefield VFW 9678, 16013 E. High St., holds free weekly fitness classes. A cardio and toning class runs from 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays and a core strengthening and floor exercise run from 9-9:50 a.m. on Saturdays.

Wholesome Fitness is presented by Kathy, a certified personal trainer in Pilates and Zin yoga. Call 440-228-7248 for class space.

Dining Around Town

Jan. 4, 6:30 p.m.

Join others from St. Anselm Church to enjoy dinner on the first Wednesday of each month and try out different restaurants in the area. VFW Casino Bus Trip

Jan. 14

The Middlefield VFW 9678 is organizing a casino bus trip. Pick up at 10 a.m. at the VFW, 16013 E. High St. in Middlefield, and leaving Presque Isle at 4 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person, with casino incentives of $30. Also included in the package are a 50/50 raffle, lottery tickets and bingo with cash prizes.

Boy Scout Spaghetti Dinner

Jan. 27, 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Parkman Cub Scout Pack 4076 is hosting a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction at Parkman Community House, 16295 Main Market Road. Carry out is available.

Presale tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 5-12. Tickets at the door are $9 for adults and $6 for youth ages 5-12. Children under 5 are free.

Chinese auction tickets will be sold throughout the dinner. The drawing will take place around 7 p.m. Winners need not be present.

LEAD Supervisor Training Series
