Clear the Shelter

Rescue Village will be holding a Clear the Shelter event with the hope of adopting out all current residents before 2017. The theme of the event will be “Adopt 1; Save 2.”
Rescue Village currently has 13 dogs, 23 cats, 3 barn animals, and 3 chinchillas in need of loving homes, with more expected to be put up for adoption on Thursday.
Event hours are Thursday and Friday, 12–6 p.m. and Saturday, 12–5 p.m.

Dining Around Town

Join others from St. Anselm Church to enjoy dinner on the first Wednesday of each month and try out different restaurants in the area. VFW Casino Bus Trip
Jan. 14
The Middlefield VFW 9678 is organizing a casino bus trip. Pick up at 10 a.m. at the VFW, 16013 E. High St. in Middlefield, and leaving Presque Isle at 4 p.m. Tickets are $40 per person, with casino incentives of $30. Also included in the package are a 50/50 raffle, lottery tickets and bingo with cash prizes.

Herb Society Meets
Jan. 27, 12:30 p.m.
The Chagrin Valley Herb Society will meet at the Bainbridge Library at for refreshments, meeting and program on horticultural therapy.
The group tends to the herb gardens at the library, holds a plant sale in May and learns from each other about gardening and herbs and flowers.

Boy Scout Spaghetti Dinner
Jan. 27, 4:30-7:30 p.m.
Parkman Cub Scout Pack 4076 is hosting a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction at Parkman Community House, 16295 Main Market Road. Carry out is available.
Presale tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 5-12. Tickets at the door are $9 for adults and $6 for youth ages 5-12. Children under 5 are free.
Chinese auction tickets will be sold throughout the dinner. The drawing will take place around 7 p.m. Winners need not be present.

Spring Fish Sale
April 18
The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District’s annual spring fish sale will be held on the midway at the Geauga County Fairgrounds. Orders are currently being taken for fingerling-size largemouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill/sunfish mix, minnows, redear “shellcracker” sunfish, white amurs and yellow perch.
