Geauga Dems Hot Topic Dinner

The Geauga County Democratic Party will host its monthly spaghetti dinner served with a hot topic at the Geauga County Democratic Headquarters and Social Hall, 12420 Kinsman Road, Newbury. Join for the after dinner conversation: “Who Will be Sitting in President Elect Trump’s Cabinet?”
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for networking, followed by dinner at 6:15 p.m. and the hot topic at 7 p.m. Suggested donation is $12.

Audubon Tour Of Mosquito Lake
Jan. 21, 9 a.m.
Blackbrook Audubon will meet at Mosquito Lake in Trumbull County to view waterfowl and search for northern harriers, bald eagles and other birds. Dress for the weather as conditions at the reservoir can be cold and windy.
Meet in the parking lot on the south side of the State Route 88 causeway.

Herb Society Meets

The Chagrin Valley Herb Society will meet at the Bainbridge Library at for refreshments, meeting and program on horticultural therapy.
The group tends to the herb gardens at the library, holds a plant sale in May and learns from each other about gardening and herbs and flowers.

Boy Scout Spaghetti Dinner
Jan. 27, 4:30-7:30 p.m.
Parkman Cub Scout Pack 4076 is hosting a spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction at Parkman Community House, 16295 Main Market Road. Carry out is available.
Presale tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 5-12. Tickets at the door are $9 for adults and $6 for youth ages 5-12. Children under 5 are free.
Chinese auction tickets will be sold throughout the dinner. The drawing will take place around 7 p.m. Winners need not be present.

GOP Women’s Spaghetti Dinner

The Geauga County Women’s Republican Club will host their annual all-you-can eat spaghetti and meatball dinner at Munson Town Hall, 12200 Auburn Road. Cost is $12 for adults and free for children.

Four Chaplains Program

The Burton-Middlefield American Legion will host a Four Chaplains program at the Atwood-Mauck Post 459, 14052 Goodwin St. in Burton. The program is open to the public.

GCRTA Luncheon
Feb. 7
The Geauga County Retired Teachers Association will meet at Mary Yoder’s Amish Kitchen Restaurant, 14743 N. State St. in Middlefield. Gathering time is 11 a.m., followed by a business meeting at 11:30 a.m. and roast beef and turkey lunch at noon. There will be a 50/50 raffle and a free lunch raffle.
A.C. McMillion, deputy director of planning for the Geauga County Department of Emergency Services, will present “Are You Prepared for an Emergency?”

Included in the reservation price is a $1 donation to the Grant-in-aid program. Reservations must be made by Jan. 30.
Tom Stalzer will be collecting donations of canned goods and paper products for the Geauga Hunger Task Force.

Kitchen Volunteers Welcome
Join the third Tuesday of each month at Claridon Congregational Church where Claridon Community Helps holds a monthly dinner. Volunteers arrive at 3 p.m. and dinner is served from 5-6:30 p.m., but help will be accepted to whatever time fits one’s schedule. Food preparation and dishwashing is needed.
