Middlefield Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Kelly Miller Circus on the Cardinal Middle School grounds, 16175 Almeda Drive. Show times are 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. both days. The tent raising will begin at approximately 9 a.m. on Circus Day.

Advance sale tickets are available at: Huntington Bank, Middlefield Bank, Save A Lot, Fig Tree, Hilltop Variety, Nauvoo Family Market and Merryfield Electric or online at www.kellymillercircus.com. Advance sale tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children ages 2-12 and seniors 65 and over. Same day box office tickets are $13 and $8, respectively.

Entrepreneur Success Breakfast 

July 27, 7:30-9 a.m.

Geauga Growth Partnership’s Entrepreneur Success Breakfast features Bill Weber, owner of Arborwear in Bainbridge Township.

The event begins with networking and a light breakfast at 7:30 a.m. followed by a program from 8-9 a.m. at Arborwear, 8269 East Washington St.

Antique Power Exhibition

July 27-29, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 48th annual Antique Power Exhibition, sponsored by the Historical Engine Society and the Geauga County Historical Society, will be held on the grounds of Century Village in Burton.

On display will be home, farm and construction equipment of all kinds and sizes. Historical buildings and antique equipment will be on display. A raffle includes a grand prize of a 1959 Oliver 550 tractor.

There will be a parade of tractors around Burton square at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

An admission is charged. No pets allowed on the grounds.

Dining Around Town

Join others from St. Anselm Church to enjoy dinner on the first Wednesday of each month and try out different restaurants in the area. Meet at Tavern 6, 7592 Euclid Chardon Road in Kirtland.

Militaria Show

Aug. 3, 3-7 pm.

Aug. 4, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

American Legion Post 167 is sponsoring a militaria show at Post 6519, 752 Water St. in Chardon.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for veterans. The show features weapons only, World War II or earlier.

Civic Club Ox Roast

Aug. 4, 12:30-8:30 p.m.

The seventh annual Community Ox Roast sponsored by the Bainbridge Civic Club will be held at Centerville Mills Park, 8558 Crackel Road in Bainbridge. Proceeds benefit Bainbridge Area Food for Friends and the club’s Kenston High School Scholarship Fund.

There will be entertainment, including a bounce house and field games for children, corn hole tournament, beer tent, music, various Kenston organizations, police and fire department information booths and other surprises.

A fun run around the former campgrounds will start at 11 a.m. Register by 10:30 a.m. and receive a meal and T-shirt.

A full adult meal will be served from 12:30-6 p.m. for $20. There will also be a beef sandwich served from 4-8:30 p.m. for $10. Adult tickets with beer are an additional $2. A child’s hot meal is $6.

GCRTA Annual Picnic

Aug. 7, 11 a.m.

The Geauga County Retired Teachers Association will hold its annual picnic at Munson Township Park, 12641 Bass Lake Road. A business meeting will take place at 11:30 a.m. followed by a picnic lunch. Bring a dish to share and table service. Some beverages will be provided.

Grant-in-aid winners will be introduced and will discuss their career plans. The educational grant winners will explain how they used their grants in the classroom.

In addition to the collection of food and paper products for the Hunger Task Force, the group will collect school supplies to be distributed by Geauga Jobs and Family Services.

Protect Geauga Parks

Join Protect Geauga Parks for a Conservation Conversation at West Geauga Public Library, 13455 Chillicothe Road Chester Township. Judy Semroc, of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, will present “Land Use and Abuse: Perils of Habitat Fragmentation.”

Burton FD Spaghetti Dinner

Aug. 11, 5:30 p.m.

Come support the Burton Fire Department by attending the all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner at the Burton Fire Department Hall.

Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Kids 4 and under eat free. Event includes a 50/50 raffle and silent auction.

HomeGrown Geauga

Tickets are now on sale for Geauga Growth Partnership’s sixth annual HomeGrown Geauga fundraising event at ASM International, 9639 Kinsman Road in Russell Township.

The evening features food, spirits, music, silent auction, raffles and homegrown entertainment.

Flea Market On The Greens

Aug. 18, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Chesterland Historical Village will host its annual Flea Market On The Greens where bargain hunters can find antiques, fine collectibles, doll clothing, tools, glassware, vintage jewelry, Rogish Farms flowers, Lily Society lilies, home decor, repurposed items, furniture and more. The event also includes food and music.

The village is located on the corner of Caves and Mayfield roads in Chester Township.

VFW Rivers Casino Trip

Aug. 18

Middlefleld VFW Post 9678 is hosting a fun bus motorcoach trip to Rivers Casino. Pickup locations are at West Geauga Plaza in Chester Township at 8:30 a.m. and VFW Post in Middlefield at 9:15 a.m. Arrive at the casino at noon and leave at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $35, with incentives of $20 slots, $5 food and $5 motorcoach coupon plus cash games on the fun bus. Chicken Dinner and Car Show

Aug. 19, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Edward and Lucy Parish will host the 10th annual Chicken Dinner and Car Show, rain or shine, at 16150 Center St. in Parkman. Event features classic cars and trucks, Chinese auction, raffles, bingo, DJ Cory and family horse racing.

Tickets for the barbecue chicken dinner are $11 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under.

Donation of $10 requested for car show entries. Goodie bags and dash plaques given to first 100 cars. Three prizes will be awarded along with a $200 gas card, compliments of Best Funeral Home. Drawing at 4 p.m. Winner must be present

Door prizes awarded every 15 minutes. Chinese auction early bird tickets go on sale Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 400 items to bid on, with the drawing at 6 p.m.; winner need not be present.

Cub Scout Recruitment

Aug. 21, 6:30 p.m.

Cub Scout Pack 193 will hold a recruitment hike at Bessie Benner Metzenbaum park. The pack is based out of Russell Township, but accepts any and all boys grades 1-5.

Join to learn more about the pack and Cub Scout. There will be information to take home along with a 20-30 minute hike around the park trails. Bring the whole family.

Vendors Sought For Arts Fair

Nov. 10, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Auburn Firedevils, auxiliary to the Auburn Volunteer Fire Department, is hosting its sixth annual arts, crafts and consultants fair at Adams Halls, 11455 Washington St., Auburn Township.

The group is seeking vendors for the event. Tables are $25 each. Tables and chairs are provided. There is plenty of parking for vendors and shoppers alike at the facility.
