Free Giftwrapping Offered

In recognition of Small Business Saturday, Chardon Tomorrow and the Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce will be offering free giftwrapping for locally purchased presents in the Heritage House. Complementary coffee and donuts will be served, too.
Shopping passports for participating locations will be available with a chance to win a Shop Chardon gift basket.
Winterfest Lights Up Parkside
Nov. 24, 5:30 p.m.
The Chesterland Rotary Club and the Chester Township Park District will host the seventh annual Winterfest at the Chester Township gazebo in the park at the corner of Mayfield and Chillicothe roads.
Join community members for the park lighting display for the holiday season. Also included will be a bonfire, free popcorn, hot cider and hot chocolate, live music, sing-alongs, plus a guest appearance by Santa.
The event is free and open to the public. In the event of snow, there will be a snowman-making contest. It will be canceled in the event of rain.
Bluegrass Jamboree
Nov. 24, 7 p.m.
Hambden Grange will host Doghouse Entertainment’s Bluegrass Jamboree, featuring Matt Efaw and RFD Band along with Kyle Jarvis and 3rd Generation Bluegrass. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults; children under 11 are free. A food stand will be available.
The Grange is located at 9778 Old State Road, Chardon
Audubon Continues Bird Survey
Nov. 25, 8 a.m.
Join Blackbrook Audubon on its monthly walk at Chagrin River Park to monitor avian life to benefit the Chagrin River Corridor Important Bird Area. Meet at 3100 Reeves Road off Lost Nation Road.

Poinsettia Sale Begins Nov. 26
Auburn Career Center is holding its annual poinsettia sale in the horticulture building located at 10985 Girdled Road behind the high school in Concord Township.
Poinsettias will be available in a variety of colors in 8-inch pots. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30-10:30 a.m. and 12-2 p.m. while supplies last.
VFW Lasagna Dinners
Wednesdays, 5-7 p.m.
Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve lasagna dinners every Wednesday in November. Donation is $7. The public is welcome.
Dorothy’s Porch Giveaway
Nov. 29-30, Dec. 1
A free giveaway of clothing for the family, household items and toys will take place Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 9-10 a.m. at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road, Chardon.
GGP Networking Event

Geauga Growth Partnership is holding a member networking event at Sharon James Cellars, 11303 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township. The event is free. Cash bar with appetizers will be provided. Members, guests and colleagues are welcome. Call 440-564-1060 to register or just drop in.
Christmas Lighting of the Square
Nov. 29, 6:30-8 p.m.
Chardon Square Association will host the lighting Chardon Square and the arrival of Santa on a horse drawn sleigh. The event includes performances by Chardon Polka Band, Geauga Music Center Band, Chardon High School Free Harmony.
Pilgrim Christian Church will serve a chili dinner from 5-7 pm.
Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce will serve hot cider, courtesy of Sage’s Apples, and cookies, compliments of Chardon Healthcare Center.
Polka at the Pines
Nov. 29, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Jake Kouwe and members from the Chardon Polka Band will provide a musical evening at The Pines at Brooks House Assisted Living.
Admission is free. Refreshments will follow.

Geauga GOP Christmas Party

The Geauga County Republican Party will host its annual Christmas party at the Chagrin Valley Athletic Club, 17260 Snyder Road, Chagrin Falls. Cost is $45 per person and includes cash bar, appetizers, buffet dinner and dessert.

Festival of Trees
Nov. 30 – Dec. 9
Middlefield Historical Society invites the community its 2018 Festival of Trees. Dozens of beautifully decorated trees, nativities and festive holiday décor will be displayed on all three levels of the Century Inn, 14979 South State Ave. in Middlefield Village.
The display will be open to the public Nov. 30 through Dec. 9, Fridays, from 4-8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, from 12- 6 p.m.
Admission is free. Donations will be accepted. A Chinese auction and the sale of live poinsettias, handmade ornaments and MHS T-shirts willhelp defray expenses.

Picture Your Dog with Santa
Dec. 2, 2-6 p.m.
The fifth annual Picture Your Dog with Santa event, which is a fundraiser for the Geauga County Dog Shelter, will be held at Cold Nose Companions, 12531 GAR Hwy., Chardon. For a minimum $5 donation, Cold Nose Companions will take digital photos of families with their dogs posed with Santa. Photos will be emailed to each participant within a week after the event.
All donations go entirely to support the care and adoption of the homeless dogs at the shelter on Merritt Road in Chardon.
No preregistration is required. Family activities and light refreshments will be offered. People are also encouraged to drop off non-cash donations for the shelter.
Gingerbread House Contest
Dec. 7-9
Chardon Tomorrow and the Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the annual gingerbread house contest. The houses will be displayed during the Home for the Holidays festival on Chardon Square.
